1. Skipping Sunscreen - The best way to keep away wrinkles is sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum formula (meaning they will sheild UVA and UVB rays). Apply sunscreen everyday before your makeup and reapply every 2 hours if you are active or swimming. We know, its a pain, but come on - you'll get the last laugh instead of the 1st laugh lines.
2. Tanning - In trying to protect itself form continued exposure to sun, the skin thickens and produces melanin (pigment that darkens skin). Pigment changes from UVA an UVB light, causing premature aging and increases the likelyhood of skin cancer. Try a spray tan or use a self tanner instead.
3. Not washing your face at night - Letting skin marinate in makeup - not to mention a day's worth of oil buildup leads to clogged pores and breakouts.
4. Smoking - It's time to quit. You'll not only damage your health but you'll develop
more and more deep wrinkles and blotchy skin.
5. Drinking too much - Alcohol increases your level of inflammatory agents in your blood stream. Which can cause your skin to sag.
6. Eating junk food - Replace processed carbs with high protein foods and whole grains and you will have fewer breakouts. You can see an improvement in acne in about six weeks. Eat snacks like peanut butter, nuts and avocado. These healthy fats provide nutrients for the hair and nails as well as your skin.
7. Picking the wrong products - Using products that are not for your skin type is a common mistake. Schedule a FREE consult with our skin technician to see what you should be using.
8. Neglecting your eyes - The skin around the eyes is thinner than practically anywhere else on the body. Make sure you always apply an anti-aging eye cream.
9. Forgetting your neck and chest - Skin care shouldn't stop at your jaw line. Skin on the neck and chest is more delicate and just as vulnerable to skin damage. Extend your skin regimen down to your decolletage.
10. Using dirty make up brushes - Dirty make up brushes can cause clogged pores and bacterial infection. Wash your brushes once a month with a brush cleanser or a gentle shampoo, rinse well and let dry overnight.
